To leap or not to leap. That is commonly the question nowadays, huh? As we go through life, when adulting especially, we are constantly trying to figure out if you prefer your cozy comfort zones or if we are brave enough to go out there and take a leap.

A leap may represent a raise, a promotion, a change of city or a separation. It may mean that you are so unhappy or unsettled that you need change or it may mean you are bored as it is to not want moviment. Even so, there is no way a leap is something safe or peaceful.

When looking up leap in Google, there are many many financial definitions for it. Wonder why? Part of investing, for instance, is taking enormous risks without knowing whether it is going to be good or bad.

The dictionary traditionally describes it as a verb or noun. When used as a noun, the meaning is: a forceful jump or quick movement.

By reading the description, you know it already: leaps are not organic moves. They are forceful. We need to want it so bad that it becomes unbearable to not do it. Even so, it makes us unsure about 110% of the time.

So it makes no sense to me rereading a quote I had wrote down as a clever insight: the life moves in leaps, not in steps.

No, life moves in steps and sometimes baby tiny steps. Leaps are not are regular days. They are the exception. They are the universe's way of making us jump hoops. They are the breathless sensation that makes no sense even though it makes all the sense in the world.

Yes, leaps are super necessary.
They come in waves to change what we need, but they are never easy.
Because they mean leaving stuff behind. They mean tough love sometimes. They mean doubts that have an easy way into our minds.

Nonetheless, leaps are also the best way to describe that feeling of uneasiness that precedes big important life changing moments. When you feel like you need a leap, just enjoy the ride. It will eventually make sense!
